Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance

No one expects a serious accident or injury. Yet sometimes the unexpected happens. Firefighters and Company Federal Credit Union wants you to know how Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance could help you plan to protect your family’s future. The Firefighters and Company Federal Credit Union pays for a no-cost to you, $2,000 AD&D basic amount through Minnesota Life Insurance Company as well as the option to purchase additional coverage. AD&D coverage includes benefits for dying or dismemberment as a result of a covered accident. In addition, benefits for covered accidents also include:

  • Common Carrier benefit pays twice the amount of your additional coverage if your covered accidental death occurs while riding as a fare-paying passenger on a common carrier
  • Education benefit pays a benefit for each dependent child who is enrolled as a full time student in an institution of higher learning on the date of your covered accidental death
  • Anti-inflation benefit increases the amount of your additional coverage by 5% every two years your coverage is in force, up to a maximum of 125% of the original amount of your additional coverage
  • Coverage for accidental loss of hearing, limb, eyesight, speech and more

Credit union members are guaranteed acceptance and no physical exam or health questionnaire is required. All coverage reduces by 50% at age 70 and older, regardless of age at enrollment.
